I Don’t Need Your Royal Blessings – Oshiomhole Blasts Edo King

Oshiomole, who hails from Iyamho, one of the communities which make up Uzairue clan, was not well received during a campaign tour of his hometown.

Reacting angrily to the perceived tacit support the state’s deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, seems to be receiving from the Ogieneni, Oshiomhole said he won his election to become the governor of the state comfortably without any form of support from his clan head.

According to the former National Chairman of the APC, he has done more for Jattu than any other person.

He listed the projects to includes but not limited to two lanes carriage road with street lights, empowerments and others.

Oshiomhole said: “The Ogieneni of Uzairue is the royal father of our clan. But, what we are beginning to see is an Ogieneni who has descended into the political arena and now wears the garb of the Ogieneni of Jattu. This is completely unacceptable”.

He recalled how he became governor in 2007 despite being denied audience by the Ogieneni on three different occasions.

The former governor stated that the Ogieneni openly fraternised and granted audience to his then rival, Prof Osunbor, he (Oshiomhole) was, however, mocked by PDP leaders such as late Bruno Oshiokpekhai who went about telling anyone who cared to listen that “Oshiomhole does not enjoy acceptance among his people.

Oshiomhole then asked the crowd: “Did l not win the election?, to which he got a resounding “Yes”.
