Pay Attention To Your Kidney Once You Begin To Observe These Signs In Your Body

The kidneys are a pair of bean shaped organs that are responsible for filtration of blood, removal of wastes, control’s blood fluid balance and keep the level of electrolytes in the body normal.

The kidney has millions of tiny nephrons in it. The kidney being a delicate organ can be affected by kidney stones, polycystic kidney disease, acute renal failure, chronic renal failure, end stage renal disease, etc.

When the kidney is affected, you begin to experience few symptoms until it becomes complicated hence one needs to be aware of these symptoms to rectify them immediately. Once you begin to observe these signs in your body, pay attention to your kidney.

1. Fatigue

When you kidney is affected, you get tired all the time. Healthy kidneys make a hormone called erythropoietin (EPO) which directs the body on when to make red blood cells but when the kidney is affected, the EPO production is reduced and this will in turn reduce the amount of red blood cells produced hence your muscle and brain becomes tired quickly.

2. Trouble thinking clearly

When anemia occurs as a result of the kidney being affected, the amount of oxygen that reaches the brain is reduced thus leading to memory and concentration problem.

3. Swellings in hands or feet

When the kidney fails, it is no longer able to remove extra fluid from the body hence those fluids begins to accumulate in the legs, ankles feet or hands.

4. Swollen or puffy face

Those extra fluids that are not removed by a falling kidney also build up in the face thus making it puffy.

5. Stomach upset, nausea and vomiting

The buildup of wastes and toxins in the body as a result of an affected kidney causes nausea, vomiting and even loss of appetite.

6. Foamy or bubbly urine

Since the kidney passes out waste in the form of urine, when it becomes affected, urine may be foamy or bubby.

7. Ammonia breath

A build up of wastes in the blood can lead to bad breath. You man experience a fruity breath a times.

8. Feeling very itchy

The kidney is responsible for removing waste from the body but when it is affected, the waste and toxins that are left in the body causes severe itching.
